Gaysians in NYC

Hey, I’ve lived in NJ and NYC my whole life. I’ve been fortunate enough to be surrounded by diversity. Which is something I’ve embrace, especially in dating. I’ve come to help get some perspective because lately the scene has made me a bit jaded. When it comes to interracial dating... Why is it so hard for LatinoxAsian or BlackxAsian couples? I’m a Latino, 6’2, worked out in order to get muscles because being normal wasn’t cutting it... and I’m still getting told “I only date Asian or white guys.” I have Black friends that refuse to go to Therapy (the bar) because they say they are ignored or made fun of, but I always see white men thrive in that space. So I go with them to Boxers where they feel safe and I noticed no Asians go there, but I noticed Industry which is mostly white tends to have a few. To be fair, it’s across the street but it’s something that dawned on me after my friends mentioned it. I keep seeing posts about how other races don’t want to date Asians, but the feedback I get from gaysians in Hells Kitchen or East Village is that they really want another Asian man they can relate to, Tom Holland, or Henry Cavill. While other men of color I speak to don’t dare approach an Asian guy they find attractive because “it’s a waste of time” because they say they will be ghosted for a white boy. So my question is for the gaysians on Reddit and the non-gaysians of color. Have you had trouble with interracial dating? Is there a stigma that I’m missing on? There’s so many beautiful men in every ethnicity, but I can’t help but feel like I’m becoming jaded towards Asian tops. Because I don’t ever feel this bad about myself when I go on tinder dates with other races.
Date Watched: 9/7/20 My Thoughts: Comic book movies are some of my favorite movies, I credit some of them for being my gateway drug to movies and I see almost every single one that hits theaters. Venom is one of the few that never really appealed to me. I like Venom but I always liked him as an adversary to Spider-Man so a Venom movie where he’s an Anti-Hero and there’s no Spider-Man just never caught my attention. The lukewarm response that I heard about it also continued to deter me. However, recently I bought a Steelbook at Best Buy that had Tom Holland’s two Spider-Man flicks, Into The Spiderverse and Venom. I figured since I own it I should finally give it a chance. It wasn’t anything special but it wasn’t the worst movie I’ve ever seen. It kinda felt like it belonged way back in the early-to-mid 2000s. The picture is glossy and kinda reminds me of Bloodshot from this year. The story itself is pretty boring and the movie feels pretty unfocused. Tom Hardy is decent in this and I liked his interactions with Venom. The CGI was alright but it definitely had its bad moments too. Overall, it didn’t blow me away but it wasn’t as bad as I expected it to be either. It’s extremely mediocre. Grade: D+

2020.09.02 02:06 pantangeliSeptember US releases include: 'I'm Thinking of Ending Things' (Sept 4 - Netflix); 'The Devil All the Time' (Sept 16 - Netflix) and the long-awaited 'Antebellum' (Sept 18 - Premium VOD)
For featured films and other September releases click here.
Summary - September has some interesting releases IMO, including the three films noted in the title. To view this month's list of films, click the link above for Posters, Descriptions and Trailers.
I'm a huge fan of dark comedy and, with elements of thrillehorror, Charlie Kaufman's adaptation of I'm Thinking of Ending Things sounds like a perfect watch for me. I'm also looking forward to seeing Jesse Plemons and Toni Collette-- two of my favorite actors. The story in The Devil All the Time sounds a bit cliche and it also appears to be the farthest from the horror genre but that's OK. There looks to be some creepy bits and the cast, headed up by Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson and Riley Keough, is outstanding. We've been waiting for Antebellum for a while (April 24 original release date) but the wait is finally over Sept 18th. Lionsgate scrapped the planned theatrical release, opting instead for Premium VOD for $19.99. The rest of the releases seem mediocre at best. The Immortal anthology stars Tony Todd, so I'll take a look just for that. Immortal was due initially on Sept 1, but apparently was pushed back to Sept 8. Let it Snow, out of the Ukraine & Georgia (but filmed in English), will probably be a mess. I'm a sucker for Winter horror, though, and it features some beautiful cinematography. HBO's miniseries The Third Day, starring Jude Law and Naomie Harris, looks interesting. Based on the trailer, it's a mash up of genres with elements of drama/mystery/thriller & horror. Will it all work? I'll probably give it a chance. Films mentioned: I'M THINKING OF ENDING THINGS (Sept 4) - Nothing is as it seems when a woman experiencing misgivings about her new boyfriend joins him on a road trip to meet his parents at their remote farm. Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cDTg62vsV4U IMMORTAL (Sept 8) - Thrown into the face of death only to emerge unharmed, characters are left staring at their lives in the face with uncertainty and fear like they’ve never imagined. Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aDXQ8w50MRA THE THIRD DAY (Sept 14) - This limited series is told in two parts, “Summer” and “Winter.” In Summer a man named Sam is drawn to the mysterious British island of Osea, while Winter follows single mother Helen as she comes to the island seeking answers. Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T43V6z9wYyE THE DEVIL ALL THE TIME (Sept 16)- Sinister characters converge around a young man devoted to protecting those he loves in a postwar backwoods town teeming with corruption and brutality. Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EIzazUv2gtI ANTEBELLUM (Sept 18) - Successful author Veronica Henley finds herself trapped in a horrifying reality and must uncover the mind-bending mystery before it's too late. Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7MPib67BDHY LET IT SNOW (Sept 22) - Separated from her fiance after sneaking onto a restricted slope, Mia, a free riding snowboarder, must survive not only against nature, but the masked snowmobile rider in black who's out for her blood. In addition to what others have said, it's also the nature of nuclear bombs. They have several phases in how they work. The initial explosion deals damage, but to a pretty small area (relatively speaking). There's an initial radiation burst with that, but this is also relatively short range. The reason is that most of the radiation that causes damage is attenuated over relatively short distances. `Alpha radiation (helium nucleus of 2x protons + 2x neutrons) VERY QUICKLY grab 1 or 2 electrons from whatever they pass by, becoming stable (and thus not harmful radiation) anymore; Helium is probably the most stable element in the universe. Alpha radiation isn't harmful to Humans from outside exposure. The reason is, it can't even get through your dead skin layer without being neutralized. Even a thin layer of clothing will block it. Famously, Alpha radiation is blocked by a piece of paper. (The danger comes in if you touch something that contains or is emitting it, then eat/drink something, some of it can get on your fingers then down your throat and into your stomach, and there's no dead skin layeclothing there to protect your sensitive tissues.)` Likewise, Beta radiation (electrons) are typically gobbled up quickly by any passing atom or molecule with a decent electronegativity. More penetrating than Alpha, it can still be stopped by normal clothing. Same thing about ingestion applies here. This is why in radiation sites, they always say \"No eating, drinking, smoking, or dipping.\" `So that leaves two other general types: Neutrons and Electromagnetic.` Neutrons are electrically neutral. This means they (a) can penetrate through things a great distance but also (b) they don't interact with things much. In order for a neutron to interact, it must more or less square on hit the nucleus of a passing atom. To put this in perspective, it'd be kind of like if you shot a probe or rocket into space in a random direction and asked \"will it ever directly hit a star at the center of a solar system somewhere?\" Yes, it can happen, but it's entirely probability/a crap shoot as to whether it does or it does not. It's entirely possible for a neutron to pass into one side of your body and out the other without doing ANYTHING at all. Or it could hit one molecule just right and cause a chain reaction, damaging several other key molecules in a DNA chain in one of your cells. Neutrons that DO interact with the nucleus of an atom basically work (in a RIDICULOUSLY oversimplistic way of thinking about it) like Newton's cradle (the thing with the hanging marbles that hit each other on one end and bounce the one on the far end to swing out): The neutron becomes part of the nucleus and kicks a proton out. `...the PROTON is what goes on to crash into the next thing it hits (being positively charged, they are, of course, attracted to things where neutrons are not), and cause further reactions.` Finally, we have electromagnetic radiation or photons. These come in energy from the low energy radio to microwave, infrared, the visible spectrum (red on the low end to violet on the high end), to ultraviolet, to x-ray, to the highest energy gamma rays. Electromagnetic radiation is weird in that molecules will only absorb specific energies/frequencies of light/photons, and they are specific to that molecule type. Others will pass through without any action whatsoever. This is known as quantization (they only accept specific \"quantities\") and this creates absorption and emission lines (the specific frequencies they accept, which you can see in visual form). `Further complicating things, if a molecule accepts a photon of a given energy, it MAY give off a photon of that same energy later (one of its electrons will jump to a higher energy when it absorbs the photon's energy, then jump back down later, releasing a photon with energy), but as there are many energy levels, an electron CAN absorb a high energy photon and then come back down from that high energy in \"steps\", releasing several LOW energy photons as it does so. Energies that might NOT interact with the surroundings.` For example, visible light can pass easily through glass, but a lot of infrared cannot. When your car is in the summer heat with the windows up, the visible light will pass through the glass to the inside. There it will be absorbed by the molecules of your chair, dashboard, etc. Some of this is emitted back out later as visible light, and again passes through the glass. But, if the electron takes more than one step to come back down, it will emit several photons of lower energy infrared light on the way. These CANNOT pass through the glass, and so remain trapped inside of the car, causing the temperature to rise (cracking windows means that some of the air molecules in the car that absorb that heat energy can then escape through the window, making the car less hot than it otherwise would be - so that's how THAT works.) `One LAST thing to note here is that if the photon absorbed by the molecule has high ENOUGH energy, it won't just push the electron to a higher energy shell (\"orbit\", if you will), it will launch it out of the molecule entirely. At this point, you effectively have Beta radiation (a free electron), but inside your body (as mentioned above, that's bad since there's no skin/clothing to keep it from the more sensitive tissues). To use our analogy above, it'd be like if you shot a rocket at another solar system and it hit one of the planets there hard enough to sent it flying free of its solar system.` Needless to say, this one is complicated. Like neutrons, these can pass through your body doing NOTHING AT ALL, or they can go in and cause some damage. It is, again, a probability function of (a) will the photon pass near enough to an atom to interact and (b) is it of a specific energy that the atom will accept OR great enough to simply launch an electron out (if you exceed the binding energy of that electron entirely, then you aren't concerned about quantization anymore, since you simply remove it from the energy shell system entirely...) `FINALLY:` It's how radiation works on cells. `IF something in a cell DOES interact with radiation, several things can happen:` (a) it can be some unimportant molecule that...doesn't do anything.(b) it can be something more important, but that the cell can repair.(c) it can be something so important that the cell dies entirely, and for MOST of the cells in your body, you can deal with single cell deaths here and there (they actually happen all the time in normal life.)(d) it can be something important, BUT that your body can't repair BUT that doesn't stop the cell from reproducing to continue the \"error\" forward to future generations of cells that derive from that initial parent cell. THIS is the bad one, as it leads to things like cancers. `.` So...maybe a bit more in-depth, but I tried to keep it from going too out of control there. `The short version is, radiation is a complicated thing. It doesn't quite work like people think, and it's probability based. This means you could absorb a lot and nothing happen, or you could be exposed to a little and it kill you. People fear that unknown. BUT, the probability of harm is higher with (a) higher levels of exposure and (b) shorter times of exposure. So getting a lot of radiation in a short time IS more likely to harm you than a steady amount of a little over a long time. And the vector of entry also matters (e.g. ingestion/eating vs external exposure to skin/clothes.)` And BECAUSE it's a probability (did your missile launched into space hit a star or just travel endlessly through the void), there's no real way to PROVE harm, it's more looking at statistics, seeing if there was a spike in something like cancer cases above the average of the surrounding ares/time period, and then assuming that was maybe probably caused by radiation. `Initial blast wave = damage` Radiation wave = possibility of cancers (closer = worse) `Long term concern = contaminated surfaces and ingestion` The initial blast, contrary to dramatic effect, is actually NOT the most harmful part of a nuclear explosion..EDIT: I should note there's some more into this (for example, how the initial blast is followed by an inrush of air from outside due to the rapidly cooling hot air contracting, or the mechanics of the compression wave, etc), but I'm trying to keep this in ELI5 territory. Definitely an interesting topic if you care to read more. posted by Renathras on /explainlikeimfive Click here to view the post. ● 81 Upvotes ● 1 reward(s). ● 0 silver reward(s), 1 gold reward(s) and 0 platinum reward(s) ● Posted: 09/08/2020 at 16:58:51 UTC
Your professor is wrong. `All the Judicial, Statutory, and Historic evidence from the 17th Century to Modern day supports the individual right to keep and bear arms unconnected to militia service.` Being a direct descendant of the English colonies American law is based off of the English model. Our earliest documents from the Mayflower compact to the Constitution itself share a lineage with the Magna Carta. Even the American Bill of Rights being modeled after the English Bill of Rights. `The individual right, unconnected to milita service, pre-exists the United States and the Constitution. This right is firmly based in English law. ` [In 1689 The British Bill of Rights gave all protestants the right to keep and bear arms.](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_of_Rights_1689) `[\"The English right was a right of individuals, not conditioned on militia service...The English right to arms emerged in 1689, and in the century thereafter courts, Blackstone, and other authorities recognized it. With ratification in serious doubt, Federalists announced a willingness to take up the matter of a series of amendments, to be called the Bill of Rights, soon after ratification and the First Congress comes into session. The concession was undoubtedly necessary to secure the Constitution's hard-fought ratification. Cruikshank, Presser v. Illinois, DC v. Heller, and even the Dredd Scott decision specifically call out the individual right to keep and bear arms unconnected to militia service.` [This is further evidenced by State Constitutions including the Right to keep and bear arms from the Colonial Period to Modern Day.](http://www2.law.ucla.edu/volokh/beararms/statedat.htm) `“The Constitutions of most of our states assert that all power is inherent in the people; that they may exercise it by themselves, in all cases to which they think themselves competent, (as in electing their functionaries executive and legislative, and deciding by a jury of themselves, both fact and law, in all judiciary cases in which any fact is involved) or they may act by representatives, freely and equally chosen; that it is their right and duty to be at all times armed; that they are entitled to freedom of person; freedom of religion; freedom of property; and freedom of the press. in the structure of our legislatures we think experience has proved the benefit of subjecting questions to two separate bodies of deliberants; ...” - Thomas Jefferson’s letter to John Cartwright, on June 5th, 1824` posted by vegetarianrobots on /gunpolitics Click here to view the post. ● 104 Upvotes ● 1 reward(s). ● 0 silver reward(s), 1 gold reward(s) and 0 platinum reward(s) ● Posted: 24/08/2020 at 23:10:51 UTC
2020.08.08 05:42 jp_1896I helped my crush realize he was bi, but he doesn’t like me back and I kinda resent him for it
Ok, title makes me look like an asshole... which I am, kinda, but hopefully context helps, I’m not a crazy incel or anything like it. So, we met several years ago through friends and common and we instantly hit it off. We had a wonderful friendship, we were both aspiring writers with a lot in common, and we used to reach each other stuff and provide some feedback, and we were tech geeks too. I fell for him instantly, but back then He thought of himself as straight. We went out with a couple of friends once and the second I saw him I quickly felt like he was gay, or maybe bi, even if he didn’t know it yet. We talked about it a few times, not in a “I think you’re gay” way, but more in a “what do you think about your sexuality?” Way. He was always very open about it, mentioned seeing gay pornography sometimes and thinking that he’d never do something like that. I thought I was wrong and dropped the subject until, a couple of years later, we met again in a party. During the party, we ended up alone in a room and I felt an opening and tried to kiss him, but he refused. Not because he didn’t like it, but because he said “someone might see us”. That stuck with me and I texted him after asking about it, he denied he wanted to kiss me, but admired he was confused. After this, we spent several months talking about his sexuality and how there was nothing wrong with being gay or bi and that he should experiment with his sexuality. Things went pretty crazy after this, with him going all in into dating apps and Dating several guys while figuring his thing out, but he never asked me out. I was okay with that, I would be okay with it if he simply “didn’t like me back”, but as you’ll see it’s a bit more complicated than that. As he went out with several guys and figured out his “dos and don’ts” with men, we would always talk about it. He had a hard time understanding that bisexuality meant that his experience with men wasn’t going to be exactly like the one with women and he might like certain aspects of dating with each gender more than with the other. I helped him through this whole phase like any good friend would and just accepted that he didn’t like me. However, he stopped seeing men when he met a really nice girl and started dating her. I gave him my full support during this time, bc he felt like being in a relationship with a woman might make him unhappy in denying his attraction for men, but I convinced him that it was no different than not cheating a girlfriend with another woman, it wasn’t about gender or sexuality, it was about fidelity. When he started dating he began teasing me on his texts way more, provoking me into getting into sex talk, which I assumed was only because he was missing seeing other men and sexting me “helped” somehow. That all changed when he started sending unsolicited dick picks and being very aggressive towards me. I tried reasoning with him that it wasn’t right to cheat on his girl, so he stopped sexting for a while, until he admitted to me that he was craving sex with men desperately and then he cheated on her. He started going out with men behind her back. At this point, and I still feel shitty about this, I wanted him to go out with me. I mean, if I wasn’t the only one he was cheating her with, then maybe it wouldn’t be as bad... right? I know, it’s still wrong I tried asking him out several times, but he always came up with the lamest excuses not to see me, and he started sexting me again and sending more nude pics, often asking me to rate them. That’s around when a sad reality started setting in: He liked me, but wasn’t physically attracted to me. Back when we first met, we were both kinda overweight and he as a bit of a ugly duckling, but as soon as he went into the gay dating world, he started becoming really concerned with his physique. He lost a bunch of weight and grew a beard and became really, Really hot. He admired to me once that he wanted to look like that because “that’s what gay men like, right?” Thing is, i never really bought into that, and I’m still kinda overweight, plus I liked him in spite of all of that, because I liked HIM, not his body. Apparently, he couldn’t overlook that, so he wouldn’t go out with me, which again, I’m okay with. Wasn’t the first, isn’t going to to be the last. Things got more complicated a little later down the line. He broke up with his girlfriend and started seeing more and more men in favor of women. And we kept texting, but I stopped leading the conversation to sex and tried to stop creating expectations. A few months after they broke up, he suddenly asked me out. Said he wanted to talk to me in person because we hadn’t seen each other in a while (our mutual friends kinda drifted apart from him, so we were rarely in the same social circles). I indulged him and took him in a cool bar, but it wasn’t until I was actually there that I realized he actually wanted a date. He sat next to me rather than across me in the table, and he would often lay his hand on my thigh. So when I felt an opening, we kissed. We went out a few more times, but it never felt like we were in a serious thing, and he always told me about how he was seeing other men. I invited him to my place for the first time and when we finally were about to have sex, things felt off. He didn’t really felt like he was into it, and he treated me very differently to what he described he treated other men (I’ll spare any straight people that might be reading this of the details). We kept going out, but it felt less romantic and more like friends talking, so I was a bit confused. I asked him about it, and then he said he wasn’t interested in a relationship, and that we were just friends with benefits, with a strong emphasis on the friends part. I noticed he never made a move, every time we had sex, I came onto him. So I stopped coming onto him, and we stopped having sex altogether, even though we were still going out. I accepted that he just didn’t like me that way and stopped asking him out, but he kept insisting on calling me out. So I thought maybe he just wasn’t a relationship guy, and just wanted to go out with several men. I was okay with that... until the last time we saw each other. We were talking about stuff and then he suddenly opened up about how angry he was with the gay community for being “too shallow” and how “guys only like you if you conform to a certain beauty standard or behavioral standard”, and that just didn’t feel right coming from him, a guy with a perfectly adequate six-pack and a gorgeous beard, and a fine ass, but I wasn’t going to be one to judge. Then he finally admitted to me that he tried starting relationships with other men, and that those men refused him for not conforming to said beauty patterns (sounded like they wanted a body builder when he’s instead just lean. They wanted a Chris Evans when he’s more of a Tom Holland). So that’s when I got pretty angry. I could understand if he didn’t like me. I could understand if he wasn’t physically attracted to me. I could understand if he just didn’t want a relationship. I cannot understand how he can like me, he physically attracted to me, but never even consider me for a relationship when he sought it. I don’t think he owes me anything, but Goddamit it feels so shitty to help someone through so much stuff, to always be there, to always be comprehensive, only for him to basically qualify me as “not worthy” of a relationship. And even if he maybe isn’t attracted to me physically, how can he look me in the eye and say that he hates how gay men are shallow? Nothing makes sense about all this and it just makes me so fucking angry. And of course I’m still going to be friends with him, and I don’t actually resent him for it. It just doesn’t feel fair, you know? To feel like someone is a perfect match for you and to have them not feel the same way for a reason you can’t understand. Again. I’m not some incel that feels like he owes me a chance for a relationship, I just can’t understand how he can go out with me regularly, and have sex with me, and talk to me all the time, but not want a relationship with me, when he seems ready to go all out with a bunch of other people. Sorry for the long text. I’m not really seeking advice, just wanted to get this whole thing off my chest without risking to expose him, since he’s not out.
2020.08.04 22:37 OlleSkywalkerBorn 02 - 5’8 Swedish guy and feeling actually quite great about it.
Most of my friend are taller then me. I’ve always felt small. I live in a relative tall country. My dad is 5’11 and mum is 5’7. My brothers are 6’3 and 5’9 and I’m 5’8. My brother grew from 5’9/5’10 to 6’3 after 18. So maybe I’ll grow a bit more who knows. But lately I’ve just grown to accept and embrace my height. And ever since I’ve just gain confiance for once. I’m actually pretty proud to be short. Maybe not that’s its my personality, but its somewhat is. I’ve always been pretty fast, and ever since I just felt proud of being who I am I’ve lately just getting called cute and good looking by girls and guys. And when it comes to dating etc and I hear that girls wants 6’0 above and you know what I think of that? I wouldn’t even want a woman that doesn’t like me for what I am and things that I can’t change. And even if society views short guys as a disadvantage I couldn’t care less. I’m happy for who I am. And I can’t change my height. Matter of fact Vikings were considered 5’8-5’9. Also gain a bit confidence by watching Tom Cruise’s Mission Impossible, Tom Holland’s Spidey movies. Even some Tom Hardy ones. And actors that I can someday relate to. Cillian Murphy 5’8 Tom Hardy - 5’9 Josh Hutcherson - 5’5 Dan Radcliffe - 5’5 Tom Holland - 5’5 Tom Cruise. - 5’7 Kit Harrington - 5’7 Elijah Wood - 5’6 Dave Franco - 5’7 Jesse Eisenberg - 5’7 Mark Hamill - 5’7 Justin Bieber - 5’9 RDJ - 5’9 Zac Efron - 5’8 Nick Jonas - 5’6 And I know this might be a pointless post but I just wanted to get it out there. Have a great day :))
2020.07.31 03:41 ClemcarrawayI’m so confused (My experience with HOCD)
I don’t know what else to do so I’m writing my experience here in the hope that someone can offer me some advice or support. (This is such a long post I’m really sorry). I’m a 14 year old girl and I’ve never questioned my sexuality before. I’ve thought about it during conversations with friends but I haven’t ever felt the need to question it until about three weeks ago. I’m literally OBSESSED when it comes to hot male celebrities. I’ll become so obsessed with a guy that I imagine scenarios with me and him (like dates and just being with him) and I’ll fantasise about (sexual) things and it feels amazing, like a super intense crush. I’ve had a couple crushes on guys in my school as well and usually I’ll get nervous around hot guys I see in real life as well as noticing them when I watch TV shows or films. Basically, up until about three weeks ago, I was boy obsessed and had never even considered doing ANYTHING with a girl. I can’t remember what scenario it was exactly that triggered me but I remember just thinking one day “what if I’m bisexual”. This thought TERRIFIED me because it came out of nowhere and it just wasn’t true. I took so many of those stupid sexuality quizzes and they all said I was straight. I’ve never had a crush on a girl (I’ve thought female celebrities are super pretty but that’s more of me wanting to BE them because I’m pretty insecure about my body) but my mind was all of a sudden telling me that I like girls. I’ve never had fantasies or crushes on girls like I have on guys and I can’t imagine myself dating a girl or having sex with her- it’s just not me. I think my brain must have noticed how much I hated this thought and for some reason I just couldn’t stop thinking about being bisexual. I could understand if I’d had girl crushes in the past but the truth is I DO NOT want to be bisexual and I DO NOT feel bisexual. At first, these thoughts made me feel disgusted and I was almost repulsed by the thought of kissing a girl. I kept telling myself I didn’t like girls like that (which I don’t) but the thought kept coming back and each time it came back it was more believable. I get a horrible anxious feeling most days and the thoughts about my sexuality are the first thing I think about when I wake up. These thoughts are always in my head and they make me so uncomfortable. I know I’m straight and I want to be straight but these stupid thoughts keep coming back. I started researching HOCD and realised that it sounded likely that I had it. I’ve read so many articles and taken so many quizzes and I have a lot of the common HOCD symptoms (I worry about my sexuality changing/ not being what I want it to be, constantly thinking about being bisexual when I know that’s not how I identify, always looking for signs or reassurance/ doing compulsions- that sort of thing) but I keep thinking I’m using HOCD as an excuse not to face my true sexuality and that I’m actually just in denial. It’s like a constant battle in my mind of knowing then not knowing. I’m scared that I don’t actually have HOCD, I’m scared I won’t get my life back to how it was before and I’m scared I like girls. I hate it! And I think one of the worst things is that I’ve lost my attraction to guys. Only a few weeks ago I was cuddling my pillow pretending it was Tom Holland and getting butterflies whenever I saw a hot guy on TV but now I feel little attraction towards the guys I used to practically be in love with. Now when I try and imagine a scenario with a guy, my brain replaces it with a girl and makes me think I want to do those things with a girl. This is so upsetting to me and I just want my silly male celeb fantasies back. I love them. I also dream of getting married to a man and having children with him and I hate the thought of having to do that with a woman instead. I don’t like girlssss this is so annoying my mind keeps telling me that I do and that this is just denial. What if it is? Am I going to be unhappy for the rest of my life? I’m only 14. Another thing bothering me is that at the start, these thoughts were making me feel disgusted but now when I imagine kissing a girl or something they don’t make me feel anything. I don’t feel grossed out and I don’t hate them. This is terrifying because it’s like my mind is telling me I like the thoughts and I’m scared that this is me accepting that I actually do like girls when I really just don’t want to. I’d rather die than be bisexual and the thought of actually coming out is embarrassing and makes me cringe. After a lot of research I know not to avoid things that could make me feel anxious or trigger the thoughts and I also know that I need to accept uncertainty and that I will never 100% know my sexuality but I hate that idea because I know I’m straight but the thoughts are making me doubt that. I’m trying to acknowledge the thoughts but not attach any meaning to them because they’re just thoughts and the emotions that I attach to them is causing the problem. I think I know what to do to get better but it’s so so so difficult. I just want my life to go back to how it was a couple weeks ago. (Also not sure if this is worth mentioning but a couple years ago I had intrusive thoughts about not being real and they were terrifying. I managed to handle these thoughts that I can only assume were a type of OCD as well and I only occasionally get them now which is great. I’m hoping I can do the same for these thoughts too but they feel so real and I’m scared that they are real) (I just want to make it clear that I’m not homophobic, I fully support the community, I just really don’t want to be a part of it). I don’t expect anyone to respond but thank you if you have actually taken the time to read all this.

2020.07.19 07:57 Mystical_Typewr1terLooking for Tinder photos ideas while in lockdown.
As the title says. Basically in my (21M) city (Melbourne, Australia) we now have a semi lockdown (basically can't really go anywhere besides buying groceries, medicine, caring for someone and seeing a romantic partner), so I decided to get back on Tinder because nothing better to do, and probs would be fun to go on some dates after the lockdown is lifted. The problem is all my photos are somewhat old, and I look pretty differently now. (Think Jack Black to Tom Holland). So, since I can't really go anywhere to hang out with mates, I need some ideas on the photos I could take. Cheers
2020.07.17 15:21 LotsOfIQI Think it Would Be Cool if Epic Added:
Throw down some ideas you gives have down here!! I’m sure there’s a lot of people like me in here who have some ideas but have small brains and can’t make super dope pictures to show them off. Go ahead and drop those ideas down here :) I’ll start with mine: I think it’d be dope if Epic gave us a Spider-Man themed period with the new movie? They love Disney, everyone likes Tom Holland, and the release date for the movie is going to be dropped soon. Think about it, you could have his web shooters could be a mythic item used as a glider, do say 35/75 damage, & pull loot (balance that as you like). On top of that they could CASSSHHH out by having different styles with all his different suits.
